Patterns for Living is a series of geometric ink paintings referencing the Bauhaus approach to fine art and craft. This series was inspired by mid-century modern art and architecture. Gold leaf that belonged to my great-grandfather, a furniture gilder, provides delicate accents and a nod to my inspiration. Basic shapes and symbols, in sets of either warm or cool colors, are the building blocks for these works. Each unique pattern is ready to be reproduced for a variety of textiles.
